World Autism Month
April is world Autism Month and the 13th annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2020. Autism Speaks website has created a campaign around Autism Awareness month, you can find many ways to make this world a kinder place by visiting their website https://www.autismspeaks.org/kindness.
I was not aware that the "Puzzle Piece" was one of the symbols of Autism until a friend commissioned me to design her a necklace. Her son has Autism and she was looking to purchase a Puzzle necklace, but had not found anything to her liking.
She wanted to see if I could translate my design aesthetics and the concept from my Touch Stone Collection to a Puzzle Piece Necklace.
I happily took on the challenge and after a few iterations came up with an abstract Puzzle Piece with an indentation so that when rubbed promotes a feeling of calmness and relaxation.
I am hoping to go into production of these pieces once my casting factory returns to work once the ban on certain businesses is lifted due to COVID-19.
